Was sollen etwa die Vierkant-Levels?

An old friend has come home and while age may be showing just a bit, still it is a welcomed visit.

BioWare has released Neverwinter Nights Diamond, which is both something new and something old. The pack is a compilation of the Neverwinter Nights saga, as it now stands, with the original title and the two expansions – Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark.

So if you can look past Neverwinter Nights' monotonous single-player campaign to its much more stimulating multiplayer mode, it is a worthy buy for any fan of D&D. 7.2 out of 10

The game is great, you can choose to be good or evil, you can choose your race, you can choose your class, you can choose how you do a mission or even if you do it. It's a great game and I'm very anxious for NeverWinter Nights 2. Classic

I believe that this game was made to appeal more to those who are willing to take it online with a group of friends than the lone offline gamer. Similar to its pen-and-paper predecessors, this game is a first in that it allows players to become a "Dungeon Master" during multiplayer matches. This means players can take control of the game in real-time by introducing new elements such as monsters, items, portals, and so on. 4.5 out of 5

So here it is. The one RPG to the rule them all. And bind them ... in the darkness ... or something. Seriously, Bioware first commenced work on this game almost five years ago back when Baldur's Gate was but a twinkle in their bearded eyes. The premise behind Neverwinter Nights? To create a set of tools that would allow us, the players, to recreate the immensely popular Dungeons and Dragons RPG experience on our PCs, complete with a highly user friendly 'construction kit' style world builder and support for live Dungeon Masters. In short, an RPG of ever increasing proportions delivering the power of game creation to the masses. 10/10

It's a very fun game: singleplayer is solid and enjoyable, weighed down by a slow pacing at first. Multiplayer is a blast, fulfilling all my expectations. I don't see myself shelving NWN multiplayer any time soon, and I'm even planning on playing the single player again, which I rarely do. 88%

NWN does take away some of the excitements of traditional role-playing, such as die-rolling and close interactions between a DM and his/her players. Nevertheless, Neverwinter Nights has definitely expanded the CRPG genre to a new level. 9.0/10

Neverwinter Nights represents a revolutionary step forward in role-playing games. Like most revolutions, it has its growing pains, but the gameplay experience, as well as the monumental potential for community involvement vastly overshadows its problems. 4.5 out of 5

TeleFragged
12.07.2002
It seems like Bioware has spent a lot of time working on their online system, what with the Aurora tools, DM client, and gameplay that's quite obviously built around the multiplayer mode they envisioned. These efforts have made the single player game too simple and linear, though, especially compared to the company's last few games - the story is not as engaging, the quests aren't as fulfilling, and the characters aren't as memorable. 90%

Quite simply the biggest part of the game – multiplayer – has too many questions. None of these are BioWare’s fault. They delivered more than I ever thought possible. Neverwinter Nights is an excellent RPG, the shadow of Baldurs Gate hangs over it though and it suffers from the brilliance of its predecessors. However it is in its own right a great game worthy of purchase, the multiplayer aspect makes sure of this on its own! 84%
